UGC releases UGC NET June 2013 results

University Grants Commission today released the results f the UGC National Eligibility Exam for Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor Teaching qualification that was conducted in June 2013 and later re-conducted to a section of candidates on September 2013.

According to UGC sources, 23718 candidates have qualified for lectureship and 3684 have bagged the junior research fellowship for conducting research studies. "Out of 738955 candidates registered for this examination, 574448 appeared. A total of 27402 candidates have qualified for the eligibility of Lectureship. Out of these, 3684 candidates have qualified for Junior Research Fellowship", says a press relase relased by UGC.

From June, 2012 onwards, UGC has taken major steps toward bringing objectivity and transparency in the examination system. NET-June, 2013 was conducted completely in objective mode in 78 subjects and at 79 centres spread across the country.

Provision to file grievances on incorrect answers of UGC NET


Interestingly, UGC has decided to allow students who have complaints regarding the answer keys issued by UGC to appeal against it within a month from the date of publication of the result. it was mentioned in the newly issued notification of the December 2013 examination. Now the provision is extended to the June 2013 examination as well.

According to the UGC press release, Also, it has been decided by the UGC that the candidates having grievance regarding answer keys even after declaration of this result, may send a written request to UGC within one month supporting their stand with standard books/literature along with a demand draft of Rs.5000/- in favour of Secretary, UGC. 

"All such requests will be re-examined by the Expert Committees. The result will be processed if any change is found in keys and additional candidates will be qualified for JRF and/or eligibility for lectureship. The result of previously qualified candidates will remain unchanged", it says.
